Engineering cards issued from Department of Municipality and Transport, can be used for both Designing firm and Contracting firm.
Engineering cards are categorized in four different tiers as per DMT (Department of Municipality and Transport) under the Administrative Decision 113/2025 regulations, the registered engineers tiers are as follows:
- Intern Engineer: Newly registered graduates or who has minimal experience in work.
- Practitioner Engineer: This is obtained after Initial practical training experience in work.
- Professional Engineer: To obtain PE Engineering card, it requires verified experience and passing formal technical competency exams as per the Abu Dhabi Department of Municipality and Transport.
- Expert Engineer: To obtain EE Engineering card which is the highest classification tier in the Engineering cards tiers, you need to have all your experience, mandatory exams as per the Abu Dhabi Department of Municipality and Transport and approved Professional Development Units (PDUs).
Now we will talk about the required documents to successfully obtain the Engineering card
- Accredited University Engineering degree and academic transcripts
- Equivalency report from the UAE Ministry of Education for your University Engineering degree
- Verified experience certificates (If work experience outside UAE then it should be attested from MOFA)
- Proof of employment continuity (TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN 1 month validity)
- Valid UAE labor card or work permit details
- Work permit Information (from MOHRE Inquiry website)
- MOHRE work Experience record (you will get from you MOHRE app)
- Good conduct certificate (Police Clearance 1 month validity)
- Valid Copy of your passport
- Valid copy of Visa with the same company name for which you want in your Engineering card.
Application Submission Steps
- Open the TAMM Platform (https://www.tamm.abudhabi/) and login the using your own UAE Pass.
- Click on search and select the service to Issue an Engineer License Card, under Personal options
- Fill in your personal details, specialization, and employment information.
- Upload all required scanned documents as per the requirements, including your equivalency certificate.
- You can view your Engineer License Card to check all the names, engineering category and specialty and then
- Submit the application, you will find the status as Under Review.
For renewal of the Engineering card:
Documents Requirements are as follow;
